Sonic RPG eps 6

"Niiiiiice"

submission: Sonic RPG eps 6

Very cool! I loved all the Grandia and Final Fantasy music, it made me mucho nostalgic! More of the same please! The voice acting wasn't too bad either.

GONG

"Ouch"

submission: GONG
date: April 29, 2006

I think you missed the mark on this one. It could have been fairly good if you'd thought really hard about things the gong could have made a mess of (such as the house of cards), but as it was it was pretty terrible. Sorry. The shakey effects you mentioned would have spiced it up a little, but the gong noises were just too annoying after a while.

Broken Saints CH 9 Act 1

"Another great episode"

date: March 21, 2006

I advise others to watch this series from the beginning, if you've not done so - the whole thing's well worth a watch. I'm even thinking of buying the DVD, despite the fact that I've already seen half of the series. Well done!

Broken Saints CH 8 ACT 1

"One of the better chapters of the series"

date: March 21, 2006

It's a shame that there are so many people who don't enjoy this because they're expecting some poorly-drawn frame-by-frame animation. Just because the images are hand-drawn doesn't mean that it's not Flash - Flash is only the medium.

That said, most of the web-illiterates on newgrounds and pages like it aren't used to reading, and probably wouldn't recognise the title if they'd even sat through the whole series. Broken Saints would reach a wider audience if there were voices on these Flash episodes (I know that you've hired some [pretty top-notch] actors for the DVD release, and that's probably all for the best. You've got plenty of fans here, so I'm glad you've not changed anything halfway through the series!

Overall a nice episode, well-written like most are and the animation was good, especially the colours in the dream sequence - it made the episode something for the eye as well as the mind!

Hopefully you guys will begin a new project now that BS is finished, and we'll have more of this calibre.

Bugs: Payback!

"mmmm.... 6. No 7. 7."

submission: Bugs: Payback!
date: March 21, 2006

This wasn't bad, but if it wasn't for the damn funny voices this would be pretty terrible. The animation was really poor, but the jewel above the fly-heads was a good idea if you can't be arsed to animate the mouths. And yeah, that dog poo was really, REALLY badly done!

Still, made me laugh, which is a very good redeemer of any Flash.

Halo Nerds ep. 3 Part 2

"www . redvsblue .com"

date: March 20, 2006

I wrote a review that didn't go through properly, so this is the short version. Pretty well drawn and animated, but the content's unoriginal - go to www .redvs blue. com (without the spaces) to see what I mean - this has been going on for a couple of years and is now at the end of its fourth season. Your skill and humour would be better applied to something more original - if you were aware of RvB, shame on you. If not, look around to see that you aren't just covering something somebody's already done.

Tripong

"Groovy"

submission: Tripong
date: March 8, 2006

Not a bad variation on Pong, and stylistically has a touch of games like Rez and that line game with the rabbit ... I like the physics and the bounciness of it, very fun, but I found it difficult to beat the computer! It's much harder to predict how your paddle will interact with the 'ball', but that's what makes it so special! But, yes, sound is a must. Add some really funky music and you'll have an addictive game there. Make a version with more backgrounds, cool music and sound effects, and everyone'll have it.

Broken Saints Chapter 7

"Filler between action?"

date: March 8, 2006

Another fine piece of work. It's difficult to keep focused, however, on the fact that this is a moving graphic novel, not an animation - that's either a compliment to the animator or an insult to the writer, who knows? It's far past decent, though, and although this one had the distinct air of filler about it - the quasi-revelation went on too long to be anything but - the series as a whole stands alone in this realm.

Broken Saints CH 6 Act 3

"Back on track!"

date: February 27, 2006

The series comes back on track after the disappointing previous act, returning to its earlier style of mystique and poeticism. The artwork's very good, and the new music track is as stunning as the rest. Overall, a great ending to the chapter and an intreaguing harbinger of the next.

Broken Saints Ch 6 Act 2

"poor for the series"

date: February 26, 2006

It's a shame that this episode of the great series was so awful; TERRIBLE dialogue that tried to be cool and funny and just came of as hackneyed and forced. The first episode featuring this character had the balance right, but unfortunately this one doesn't follow suit - the usual cryptic, poetic narration morphed from sadly awful to embarassingly cliche; the mad man's ramble at the end was excruciating. Hopefully the rest of the series is as good as the first 5 or 6 episodes, and that this one was a bad apple in a good crop.
